HAT and Tanzanian NGO Health Action Promotion Association (HAPA) worked in partnership in 2009 to supply medical equipment to a poorly stocked medical dispensary in Choda village. This project was initiated by the local community.  Essential primary health medical equipment such as operating tables, maternity beds, trolleys and trays, syringes and a microscope were purchased and installed in a dispensary that previously had no equipment.  The equipment was transferred by Jeep to Singida, and installed in a ceremony in July 2009.  The Tanzanian Government has confirmed in writring that they will staff the dispensary once the equipment has been installed.

Project status: Completed, July 2009.

In 2005-6 HAT raised  $6,000 to fund the stocking of a medical dispensary in Urughu Village, central Tanzania.   The equipment was purchased but then because the dispensary was not able to fulfil some of the requirements for funding, the equipment was transfered to another needy village, Mvae.

The project funded the purchase and installation of vital equipment for primary health care in Mvae including a microscope, maternity delivery bed, glucometer, HIV testing kits, blood pressure equipment, scales and surgical gloves.
