HAT's Status

Health Australia & Tanzania (HAT) Inc is an incorporated association (registration number AOO47020H, ABN 89 423 297 589), founded in 2005. 

The current committee members, clockwise from top left above, are Dan Tang (Secretary), Binti Singh (Vice President), Peter Constable (Treasurer), and Peter Larter (President). Fatima Kanji joined the Committee on 6th June 2010.

HAT is governed in accordance with our constitution, which outlines how HAT members can be elected to a Committee to run HAT on behalf of all members.

Anne Adams, a returned volunteer to Tanzania, was integral to the establishment of HAT.  


Mission Statement

Improve the health of rural   communities in Tanzania by:

  • Providing access to health related facilities and information, and
  • Sourcing funds to support projects we manage, and
  • Empowering rural communities in Tanzania, and
  • Engagement of Australians.

Minutes of Committee meetings

Learn about Tanzania

Tanzania is located on the East African coast, just south of the equator.  It is bordered in the north by Kenya & Uganda, in the west by Rwanda, Burundi & Democratic Republic of Congo, and in the south by Zambia, Malawi & Mozambique.

The official languages are Swahili & English.
